The Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, Hawaii is home to many unique structures. The Hukilau Marketplace is the visitor’s first glimpse into this wonderful Hawaiian attraction. It consists of 5 separate CMU and steel buildings that mimic the turn-of-the-century plantation buildings that were once found on the islands. The buildings contain everything from sweet treat shops, Goo’s Plantation Store, Hapa Home souvenir shop, and Pounders Restaurant to name a few.
Additional site work included full electrical and mechanical infrastructure, as well as gazebos, restrooms for the night show, and a food truck court. AE Urbia worked with Michael Lee Designs, Special Projects, and the Polynesian Cultural Center to turn these retail shops into an authentic Hawaiian experience.
